This is the well-known Kids Can Sew® & Fashion Design curriculum, of which the Needles and Threads Studio is a licensed instructor. These classes consist of several projects to complete at about a rate of one project per month. We start the child with an introduction to the sewing machine and increase skill and confidence with carefully designed projects for ages 6 on up. Curriculum is especially tailored to accommodate the tastes of girls, boys and teens. Classes are 1 hour in duration and limited to no more than 4 students each.

Not many gals can resist a new handbag - but why settle for one that isn't 100% unique? With the costs of some bags going into the hundreds and even thousands of dollars, with no guarantee that it isn't like a few hundred others, you owe it to yourself (and your creative juices) to make a bag that is wholly yours. This class takes anyone from novice to advanced seamers through making their own individual handbags. Students choose a bag style and are guided through design, fabric and embellishment choices and then make their bag under guidance in the studio.

Choose new and fun
projects that you can sink your teeth into and create to your heart's
content. Make items for yourself or for gifts. Make a robe,
an organizer, a scarf or create some new curtains to match that new duvet cover and pillows for the guest room. During open classes students bring in projects of their own choice and work on them under the supervisor's watchful eye for tips, clarifications and technique sharpening.
Guidance provided on project choice relative to student's current skill level, fabric and embellishment choices and construction. These classes are project based and good for advanced seamers or
those who need a little more group pressure to complete projects.
